Polaris oil is to be administered orally. The starting dose is 2.5 mg twice daily (5 mg a day). Patients are recommended to initiate treatment on the evening of Day 1 with 2.5 mg. After 5-7 days, the dose can be gradually increased to 5 mg twice a day (10 mg a day).

Patients who are tolerating Polaris at 5 mg twice daily and who may benefit from a dosage increase can be further titrated to a maximum recommended maintenance dosage of 10 mg twice daily (20 mg day). This should be titrated over several weeks, as tolerated. Dosage should not be increased more frequently than every other day.

Polaris is contraindicated in patients:

• with hypersensitivity to cannabinoids (e.g., THC or CBD) or to any of the inert ingredients in Polaris;
• with a significant history of cardiovascular disease;
• with an active or previous psychotic or active mood or anxiety disorder; and
• who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
