Boss OG

About Boss OG

Boss OG is an aromatic phenotype of the well known OG Kush strain. It shares a lot of similarities with Fire OG and emits scents of lime, lemon, and fuel. Users of this strain report a relaxing, euphoric effect and diminished levels of stress or pain. Additionally, this strain of cannabis is a good option for people who like to work out since it has mild nerve stimulating and muscle energizing effects.

Boss OG has a flowering cycle of 9 to 10 weeks over which it produces plenty of cannabis buds. The nug has a light-green spongy appearance and looking at it with a scope will reveal icicle trichomes with globular tips. It is easy to grow and produces a high yield, making it an ideal option for cultivators of varying expertise levels.

ORIGIN

Boss OG is a phenotype of OG Kush that was developed by Dark Heart Nursery. It was first gifted to them by a local source and has classic aromas of citrus and fuel. Its lineage can be traced back to a phenotype of OG Kush, most likely Fire OG. Fire OG is considered to be one of the most potent Indica dominant OG Kush strains.

Thanks to the generous yields this strain produces, it is a great choice for commercial growers as well as discerning users. Since an abundance of buds are produced during its flowering cycle, it’s a good idea to provide double trellising for more stability. This strain of cannabis is suitable for both daytime and nighttime use.

STRAIN TYPE

Boss OG is a 50/50 Hybrid of Indica and Sativa. It is a phenotype of OG Kush and has pronounced citrus and fuel odors. It is sometimes confused with the strain Mob Boss, but the two do not share many similarities. Depending on the source, the THC levels can be as high as 30%, making this a very potent strain.

While there are some Indica-dominant versions available, most strains out there have equal amounts of Indica and Sativa. Since it is closely related to OG Kush, it brings on energy, joyfulness, and creativity. Its aroma has been compared to citrus, pine, and diesel.

Terpenes

TERPENE PROFILE

The three primary terpenes found in Boss OG are Caryophyllene, Fenchol, and Linalool at 0.30 %, 0.131 %, and 0.118%. It also contains significant levels of Humulene and Myrcene. Myrcene is the most commonly found terpene in most strains. However, the terpenes Limonene and Pinene are chiefly responsible for the earthy, sour citrus scent that this strain emanates. These are present in smaller amounts of 0.081 % and 0.031 %. It also has a woody, fuel undertone which many users seem to find enjoyable.

Caryophyllene has a spicy, woody aroma and is valued for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects. Fenchol has fragrances of camphor and pine. It has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Linalool is characterized by a floral, citrusy scent and has sedative, anxiety-relieving effects. Humulene is responsible for the distinct herbaceous, slightly floral aroma of this strain. It also has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.

Myrcene has a mild sedative effect which is responsible for the lethargic feeling reported by some users. Boss OG also provides euphoric and uplifting Sativa-like effects thanks to the Limonene and Pinene terpenes.
