The trichomes that coat the buds carry cannabinoids as well as terpenes. Terpenes work alongside the cannabinoids to boost the healing properties of cannabis. Some patients prefer using cannabinoid isolates such as CBD isolate or THC isolate. This works well when the patient requires the specific cannabinoid in high amounts for a specific reason.
When cannabinoids are combined with terpenes, the healing effect is prolonged and one will feel relieved for a longer time. Patients now prefer full-spectrum extracts for this reason.
Ebony and Ivory contains the following terpenes:
The earthiness that you detect from this strain originates from myrcene. This terpene is also common in mangoes and lemongrass. Myrcene has many healing benefits, most recently it has been suggested that it has antimutagenic effects.
Pinene is what you smell in pine and fir trees. It inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase and this helps in improving memory.
This terpene is spicy and when present in high amounts it stings the nostrils. It is also abundant in basil and cloves and may help treat symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.
