About NYC Diesel
NYC Diesel is a sativa dominant hybrid strain that is a cross between Mexican and Afghani land race strains. With this strong genetic heritage, this strain has won different Cannabis Cups, not once, not twice but nine times. For most patients this is the ideal wake and bake strain, but for a starters the cerebral high may be too overwhelming and it may be advisable to have this in the evening.
This strain like most other sativas gives an instant mental boost that clears the mind and produces euphoria. For this, it is very useful in combating mental health issues such as anxiety disorders and depression. It has THC levels of between 15-20%, this is moderately high and new users should be warned that the high may be overwhelming. This is a very citrusy strain with spicy undertones. The scent is quite potent and will fill up the room once you expose the buds. The hues are a mix of blues, reds, orange and light greens. It gives of the impression of a peacock colored herb. Upon lighting up, your tongue will be tantalized with a mix of sweet flavors as the smoke gentle massages your throat. The scent will linger for a while after smoking. It is also a highly resinous strain with snow colored trichomes covering the surface of the flowers. It gives off a gentle body hit that is relaxing. If you suffer from chronic body aches and pains, this strain will allow you to enjoy some high quality rest. This strain is also one to induce the munchies. This strain is easy to grow both indoors and outdoors. However, it takes a long time to flower, about 85 days.

Origin
NYC Diesel is a creation of Soma Seeds with an interesting story to this. Soma was gifted some cannabis seeds by a friend in Big Apple. This friend claimed that this was the best strain that he had ever tried, and clearly one could see the effects on him. Soma took the seeds and used them to create NYC Diesel. It is believed that the true origins of this strain are a Mexican Sativa and an Afghani strain.

Terpenes
Terpene Profile
Terpenes are produced in the resinous trichromes found on buds of the cannabis plant. They give the plant its unique aroma. They also add to the therapeutic value of the plant. Each terpene offers exclusive medicinal properties that when combined with that of other terpenes and cannabinoids produce a powerful healing effect. This mechanism is referred to as the entourage effect. NYC diesel has a number of beneficial terpenes that include: caryophyllene, myrcene and pinene.
Caryophyllene
Caryophyllene is best known for its peppery and spicy scents. It is abundant in black pepper, cloves, oregano and basil. This is the only terpene that is able to bind to the CB2 receptor to produce immune modulation effects. It also has analgesic and anti anxiety effects. Recently it has been discovered that caryophyllene is effective in treating alcohol withdrawal symptoms by reducing the urge to want to consume alcohol.
Myrcene
This is the most abundant terpene in most cannabis strains. Usually it will account for over 50% of the total terpene profile. It has an earthy scent with musky undertones. It is mostly useful for its sedative properties.
Pinene
This pine scented terpene is mostly found in orange peels, parsley, basil and rosemary. Pinene is a potent anti inflammatory agent and is useful in the management of arthritis and Crohn’s disease. It is also useful in abating the memory loss that is associated with high levels of THC.
